Can you share a bit about your background and what motivated/inspired you to join the Leafguard team?
I come from a hard-working family that values tenacity and perseverance. Professionally, I have been in the dental world for 22 years, and I love it. I’m a single mom of two beautiful children, and I was looking for a part-time job that would fit my schedule. I had set some goals to achieve and was interested in finding ways to earn extra income. Eventually, I came across Leafguard. With my extensive background in customer service, I decided to apply for an interview.
It was important to me to work for a company that truly stands behind its product. After interviewing with the branch managers and the event marketing department, I knew I had found my home. They made me comfortable and explained why the company is so successful. I never imagined in a million years that this company would be taking me as far as it has taken me. Now I get to continue growing and training new employees while still making a difference for our customers.
How would you explain to your friends and family what working here is like?
It’s amazing. I feel motivated, and I’m supported every day by my team. The training and the leadership have really helped me sharpen up my skills and build my confidence as well. It’s gratifying to represent a company that makes a difference. For me, it’s not just about earning a paycheck, but getting the opportunity to meet with customers and make a difference—one of the best things about Leafguard is that it’s not your typical nine-to-five job where you’re sitting at a desk. You get to visit new places and meet new people every single day, which is fantastic. This is why I love and share with my friends and family that Leafguard keeps the job exciting and fresh. It’s a great mix of adventure and purpose. I have the privilege of working with an outstanding team that is very energetic, and the company has provided me with the tools to grow and succeed. Also, you would get to be trained by me!
Tell us about a professional success story that you’re proud of.
The training that I received really inspired me to want to be successful. There is a weekly list that leadership provides, illustrating the Homeshow Promoter rankings nationwide. Initially, I would see my name towards the bottom of the list. I continued to develop my skills and started to ask to see the list every week proactively. As time went on, each week I would move up and up on the list, eventually hitting number two. My goal was to be number one, and with hard work, I got there as well. I’m super proud of myself for that accomplishment.
What are some vital lessons you’ve learned throughout your career?
I’ve learned never to give up; you must keep going. In this field, you tend to meet a lot of people, some of whom are resistant to conversation. I’ve learned how to tailor my approach to different customer groups, listening to their needs, and sharing what our product is: a permanent solution. Pushing through, trying my best, and working my hardest has gotten me to where the second income has actually helped me purchase a home in Connecticut. This was a massive goal for me, and I couldn’t have done it without Leafguard.
Any advice for colleagues or individuals aspiring to advance their careers within the organization?
My advice would be that dreams really do come true if you don’t give up and keep working. Work hard even when you feel like you’re up against a wall. The wall does eventually come down. Not only did I reach my personal goals, but I also had the opportunity to open an office in Massachusetts and manage it. Unfortunately, the timing wasn’t right, but the opportunity is proof of how far you can go with Leafguard. If you’re looking for something new with great potential, Leafguard is the place to come.
